Uxie Tower Concept Design

There are three things I could say right now to start off these long artist's comment, yet, unfortunately, all three things that I could say start with "...Damn."

Then, I could say:
- This is way too complex...
- This is a half-assed sketch...
- I should really stop going through my Dad's architectural books after eating mocha-coffee-cheesecake ice-cream at one in the morning...

Now, for the long explanation...

Behold, Uxie Tower. Possible home of the Team Acuity Gym (fighting arena or whatever you want to call it not shown). Anyone that looks at it from the outside would only see a cylindrical building built into the side of a frozen mountain, twice as tall as it is wide, seemingly plain and made of mirrors that reflect back anything around it, but inside, well...To be blunt...

It looks like a designer took a bite out of any style they could find, and puked.

The internal structure of the building resembles a tree or a flashlight, 22 stories high. It includes:

- Enough space to house all of team Acuity (if half of them share rooms) and guests.
- Chief's office, located on the top two floors.
- A recreation room or lounge, located on the first floor.
- A library, containing all sorts of books, tomes, scrolls, and other sorts of recordings. Also computers.
- A kitchen (someone's got to feed everybody)
- Bathrooms located on every other floor.
- Two elevators, a fright elevator, and a spiral staircase which goes through the center of the building.
- Murals, motifs, and other forms of art and decor which depict every pokemon (mostly Uxie). If a pokemon exists, you can find it somewhere in here.
- A fully operational stadium located at the very top of the inner structure (not shown).
- A garden located around the stadium, filled with all sorts of plants and vegetation.
- A complex hot water system which is pumped throughout the building. It forms an intricate web that not only looks nice, yet also provides water to the trees growing on the walls.
- Many wooden beams that provide structure to the building.
- Several staircases and bridges that connect the outer structure to the inner structure, providing ways for people and pokemon alike to get around, and also get lost (some not shown).

Yes, that's a lot of words, but I'm not done yet...

Symbolism and Reasoning of the building:

Because we are called Team Acuity, naturally, we are connected to the pokemon Uxie, being of knowledge. Due to this, I did some research on Uxie along with the other lake guardians (thank you Bulbepedia/ Wikipedia) and found that the lake guardians are based on the Imperial Regalia of Japan. The Imperial Regalia of Japan is three sacred items/treasures: a sword, a magatama (curved bead), and a mirror. Each lake gardian corresponds to their object, Mesprit of Lake Verity to the Yasakani no Magatama (benevolence), Azelf of Lake Valor to the Kusanagi (valor), and Uxie of Lake Acuity to the Yata no Kagami (wisdom), or sacred mirror.
This inspired me to make the building, in essence, a one-way mirror. Those looking at it would only see themselves and what surrounds them, while those who are inside would see the outside world clearly, as if looking through a window. A mirror and window also go along with Team Acuity quite well, as a person's eye is a window, or a mirror. Someone looks into it, and either sees themselves, or possibly something more.
Now, for the explanation of the inside. The trees and tree-like structure represents the tree of life, or a tree of knowledge, in which all forms of, of course, knowledge, branch out to form aspects of sciences. For example, Ecology is a branch of Biology. Yet, if that's too complicated, just think of the interior as a mind or spirit in itself. One part can focus on one thing, yet if you wander around, you find yourself in someplace completely new.

Feh, I'm typing too much...This is just a first sketch. I'll post more sketches in the future that focus more on individual parts...later...
